With over 30 years in paediatric oncology nursing, including 7 in paediatric palliative care, I bring deep empathy and experience to every service.

I’ve been a funeral director since 2012. Prior to that I was a nurse for 30 years – in paediatric oncology and paediatric palliative care. I credit my nursing background with helping me develop many of the skills I use now – feeling comfortable around death and dying, supporting families at a difficult time, working with families of many different cultures and beliefs, and being honest in a kind and gentle way. The aspects of this work that I love is the challenge of getting to know lots of different kinds of people in a short space of time, helping people work out the best way to say farewell to their family member, and working with a wonderful and supportive team.

I have three adult children, belong to the All Together Now choir, do Scottish country dancing, love reading, swimming, and have been a board member of Sweet Louise since it’s inception in 2005.
